Faith-based Wellness

Faith-based wellness

At Oil With Us, we believe that true wellness is a holistic journey that integrates the body, mind, and spirit. Faith-based wellness means honoring God by stewarding the health He has entrusted to us, while keeping Him at the center of everything we do. It’s about seeking balance and wholeness through practices that align with Biblical principles, whether that’s through prayer, healthy living, or using natural resources like essential oils.

We view wellness as a way to care for ourselves, knowing that God provides everything we need for healing and strength. While we may turn to natural solutions like essential oils, we always remember that ultimate healing comes from God. Essential oils can support our emotional, physical, and mental well-being, but they’re never a substitute for our faith and trust in God’s provision.

For us, faith-based wellness is about more than just feeling good—it’s about honoring God in every aspect of our health journey, knowing that when we focus on Him, we’re aligning ourselves with His perfect plan for our lives. At Oil With Us we’re here to support you on your wellness journey with natural solutions that reflect your faith and help you live a life of purpose and vitality.

GOD IS OUR HEALER

At Oil With Us, we believe that God is our ultimate healer. While we seek natural ways to support our well-being, we recognize that true healing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—comes from Him. The Bible reminds us in Exodus 15:26 that God is “the Lord who heals you.” His power is greater than any remedy, and prayer is our direct connection to Him, allowing us to seek His guidance, comfort, and restoration.

Throughout Scripture, we see God as the one who brings healing. Jesus healed the sick, restored the brokenhearted, and offered peace to those in distress. Whether through miracles or through everyday means, God works in ways beyond what we can see. Sometimes He brings immediate healing, and other times He walks with us through a process of endurance and trust. No matter the outcome, we can rest in the truth that He is always at work for our good.

GOD Answers Prayer

God hears every prayer, but His answers may not always look the way we expect. Sometimes He heals instantly, as seen in the miracles of Jesus. Other times, He provides strength to endure, deepens our faith through trials, or uses doctors, natural remedies, and lifestyle changes as part of the healing process. No matter how He answers, we trust that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and He always responds in love.

WELLNESS IS WHOLENESS

When we pray for wellness, we’re not just asking for physical healing—we’re seeking God’s peace, wisdom, and presence in our lives. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer, and in return, He gives us His peace that surpasses all understanding. Whether we are using essential oils, making healthier choices, or facing health challenges, prayer keeps us rooted in faith, trusting that God is in control.

At Oil With Us, we encourage starting your wellness journey with prayer—seeking God first and allowing Him to lead the way in caring for the bodies He has entrusted to us.

is using essential oils biblical?

Essential oils and plant medicine have been used for centuries across various cultures, including in biblical times. The Bible frequently references aromatic oils in anointing, healing, and worship. In Exodus 30:22-25, God instructs Moses to create a holy anointing oil using myrrh and other fragrant spices. The wise men presented frankincense and myrrh to Jesus, highlighting the historical and spiritual significance of these oils (Matthew 2:11).

While the oils used in biblical times were typically olive oil infused with herbs, leaves, or resins—unlike today’s highly concentrated essential oils—both share a common purpose: supporting well-being through God’s natural provisions.

Using essential oils today aligns with the biblical principle of stewardship, caring for the bodies God has entrusted to us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). When used wisely, essential oils can offer natural support for emotional, physical, and mental wellness while reminding us that our ultimate trust remains in God, the true source of healing and wholeness.

Aroma in Worship & Healing in the BIble

Throughout Scripture, aromas are connected with worship, healing, and honoring God. In the Old Testament, the fragrance of incense used in worship is described as pleasing to the Lord (Exodus 30:34-38). The Bible also links aromatic oils with healing—such as the use of balm in Gilead for physical healing (Jeremiah 8:22).

In the New Testament, the anointing of Jesus by Mary with costly perfume (John 12:3) is a beautiful picture of reverence and love. Similarly, essential oils today are often used in prayer and meditation to help align our hearts and minds with God's presence. These natural aromas can serve as a reminder of God's faithfulness and the healing He offers.

Trusting God while pursuing wellness

While essential oils and natural remedies can support wellness, our ultimate healing and well-being come from God alone. He is our refuge, strength, and provider (Psalm 46:1). Seeking health solutions—whether through essential oils, nutrition, or medical care—should never replace our trust in His power and sovereignty. Instead, these resources should be used with wisdom, recognizing them as gifts from God, not as the source of our healing.

God, as the Creator of all things, designed the plants from which essential oils are derived. When we use them responsibly, we honor Him by caring for the bodies He has entrusted to us. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and seek His guidance in all we do—including our wellness journey. Approaching health with gratitude and dependence on God allows us to use natural and medical solutions as part of His provision rather than as replacements for His care.

Scripture also affirms the value of physicians and medical wisdom. Jesus acknowledged the role of doctors when He said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick” (Luke 5:31). Paul encouraged Timothy to take a little wine for his stomach issues (1 Timothy 5:23), showing that practical health solutions are not contrary to faith but part of responsible stewardship. Seeking medical advice, using natural remedies, and making wise lifestyle choices are ways we partner with God in caring for our health.

Wellness is not about choosing between faith and practical solutions—it is about integrating both. Through prayer, wisdom, and responsible action, we honor God as the ultimate source of healing, trusting Him while using the resources He has graciously provided.
